MERAKI, in short, means to put your heart, soul, creativity and love into what you like to do. We believe that this word is the one that best represents us and the one that, without a doubt, we would like to represent this project.
We are Raquel and Laura. Two women who have spent our whole lives dedicated to what we love most: teaching, education, innovation and personal and professional growth. We are both passionate about learning and working as a team and although our specialities and teaching experience are very different, it has always been clear to us that we wanted to do something together. Something that would help us to grow, to share and to pass on the vision of education and the world that we both have. And that is why MERAKI EDUCATION was born...
Our history
We met seven years ago by chance. We were both part of the teaching team of an innovation project of the Department of Education of the Galician autonomous community that was initially called Piteas and later became SEMGal. This was a very special project for us, as it allowed us, on the one hand, to grow and learn from an incredible human and professional team and, on the other hand, to create bonds of friendship that still last today. Working together on that project was so special that we had been thinking about embarking on an adventure like this one for a long time... We both have extensive experience in teacher training and mentoring, so we are particularly excited to be able to accompany teachers from all over Europe.
